The founder and owner of Ghost Educational Consultants - Steve Sgambelluri has proudly spent twenty five years in the field of education – nineteen of which were served in school administration.

Throughout his educational odyssey, Steve has worn many hats. As a history teacher he taught 9th Grade World History and 12th Grade Popular History. He then moved onto teaching 5th & 6th Grade History and served as a student advisor. His engaging PowerPoint presentations, equipped with sound effects, videos and famous movie characters became a favorite of his students and allowed them to learn History through a different lens.

He began his work in school administration as an Associate Dean of Students for Grades 9-12 in 2007. Along with his duties as Associate Dean, he served as the Director of Student Life and taught high school courses in Leadership. Steve also taught Critical Thinking and Human Relations at the college level. He later served as a Middle School Principal, Assistant High School Principal and High School Principal. He spent ten seasons as a varsity boys basketball coach where he helped developed a multitude to college basketball players.

As principal, the middle school program, under Steve’s leadership, focused on challenging students both in and out of the classroom to reach their maximum potential. Whether it was during a Monday morning assembly, roaming the halls or meeting with students in his office, Steve’s belief that all students are successful if they are giving their absolute best proved to be valuable. Under his direction as a middle school principal, his school routinely observed 100% student improvement academically, behaviorally, socially, spiritually and emotionally.

Along with the creation of several exciting student-centered programs – Steve created and taught Leadership courses in the middle school which exposed students to elements such as decision making, leadership styles, group process, public speaking, crisis communication and money management. His programs such as “strength in numbers,” positive action initiatives, fishing derbies, awareness day and middle school awards assemblies served as tremendous motivating factors for students.

Steve moved to the position of Vice Principal for Discipline & Middle School where he oversaw the disciplinary program for all students in grades 6-12. During that time, he established the Disciplinary Advisory Council, launched student based mentoring programs and helped coordinate the launch of a student run coffee café located in the school and operated by students in the business program.  In addition, Steve constructed the school’s Emergency Plan, served as the student retention director and was the school’s COVID-19 Coordinator during the pandemic.

As a high school principal he was instrumental in helping his school transition to a coeducational institution after being a single gender school for more than one hundred and fifty years. His first year as principal marked the first year that the school transitioned to a coeducational model.

Over the next four years under his leadership, the school recorded record growth and increased enrollment in each of those years.  He introduced “Leadership Labs” for the school, established a student run tutoring center and created the school’s “Superhero initiative” – a program that highlights and recognizes students for helping others, being a positive influence and uplifting peers.

Steve also brought in professionals from outside organizations to help educate students on healthy relationships, peer to peer respectful interactions, the dangers of vaping/smoking and how to be safe using social media. He also, on occasion, would have students listen to music at school assemblies as a way to deliver a message about being positive, supporting one another and being kind to everyone.

In 2023 he began educational consulting work with both private and public school teachers and administrators presenting on topics such as overcoming teacher burnout, discipline strategies for success, communicating with families and creating and maintaining a winning team culture for coaches. The consulting work started slowly but each year Steve would add another element to his consulting arsenal.

Both his virtual sessions and in person sessions were very popular with school personnel such as nurses, teachers, administrators, coaches, teacher aides, etc. Early on in his work as an educational consultant he conducted sessions for school staff from all over the country and as far away as Hawaii. Additionally, Steve conducted webinars for Role Call Consulting, Inc based out of Dallas and spoke at the New York State Catholic Schools Leadership Summit in Syracuse in August 2025. He has also served as a keynote speaker for district wide professional development days.

Steve founded Ghost in November of 2025 and seeks to offer education, guidance, support, strategies and direction to teachers, administrators, coaches and all other school personnel throughout the country. He chose the name "Ghost" after his love for the movies Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve & Ocean's Thirteen. Ask Steve to explain!

Steve is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at both his high school and college that he attended. He served ten seasons as a varsity boys basketball coach (2008-2018) and also coached at the collegiate level for three seasons as an assistant coach (2003-2006). Steve has served as head coach for teams at the CYO & AAU levels and ran a successful summer basketball camp for ten years.

As a former student athlete and coach, Steve has weaved in some athletic consulting services with Ghost as he speaks to both coaches and college bound student athletes about a myriad of topics such as dressing professionally, social media exposure. what to ask college recruiters, why it’s important to study rosters, how to run parent meetings, how to run individual player meetings, off season workout plans, healthy habits and more.

Steve believes that the ever evolving world of education becomes more complex each year as both student and staff needs increase in a variety of ways. His goal when he created Ghost was to offer proven techniques and strategies to educators everywhere as a way for them to find more peace in their work. Steve doesn’t just visit a school or work with school staff and then leave, rather he wants to maintain a relationship with every organization that he has the privilege of working with. That relationship should last forever!
